1000-Lb Sisters viewers have some very strong feelings about Michael Halterman this season. Only one episode has aired on TLC, but it’s immediately clear that Amy Halterman is struggling with her mental health. Viewers feel outraged that Michael has done very little to lend his wife a helping hand.
But it appears that fans are about to become much angrier. In a new clip, Amy reveals that Michael refuses to watch his own children and often forces her to parent by herself.
1000-Lb Sisters fans grow enraged with Michael Halterman
Ahead of tonight’s new episode, TLC shared a new clip on its official Instagram account. It’s clear that there’s trouble brewing in the Halterman house and it could spell the end of their marriage.
“Amy needs a minute to herself! She’s looking to hire a nanny for some extra help on #1000lbSisters, Tuesday at 9/8c,” TLC captioned its Instagram post.
In the heartbreaking clip, Amy Halterman tearfully tells her sisters how hard she is struggling. Now that she has another little one in the house, her workload has dramatically increased. She also has an aging mother to help care for and doesn’t feel like she gets any help at all from Michael.
And then in a confessional, Amy drops a shocking bombshell that enraged viewers.
“I’m not allowed to go anywhere without my kids is what he told me,” the TLC star admitted.
“Michael does not want to watch both of the kids at the same time when he’s alone, so I always have to bring at least one kid,” the mother of two said in exasperation. “I don’t know if it’s because he don’t want to watch them by himself or it’s because he can’t watch them by himself and play a video game at the same time.”
The tension escalates in the Halterman household
By now, most 1000-Lb Sisters fans already know that Michael and Amy Halterman divorced earlier this year. But even so, it’s very different watching the whole breakup play out onscreen. And knowing the family, viewers know that the situation will get much worse before it gets any better.
1000-Lb Sisters Season 4 part 2 is supposed to contain a number of bombshells, as teased by TLC before the season premiere. In one instance, Amy is screaming at Michael to leave her home while Tammy dials 9-1-1. After witnessing Michael’s behavior so far this season, their explosive fight probably has something to do with his unwillingness to care for his sons.
